GPAD
Antiseptic disinfection of hospitals, pharmaceutical industry, food industries, dairies etc., is necessary to prevent the spread of microbial infection/contamination. Our wide range of GPAD’s provides required efficacy for antiseptic disinfection.
SANMETOL
General and Multipurpose Antiseptic Liquid
Composition:
Chloroxylenol IP – 4.8 % w/v
Alcohol (denatured) – 13.1 % v/v
Terpineol BP – 9 % v/v
Mechanisms of Action:
Sanmetol acts on microorganisms by triple mode of action-
- Chloroxylenol works by disruption of the cell wall and stopping the function of enzymes.
- Proteins are common to all living things but if it loses its shape it becomes nonfunctional and is unable to restore its original shape and functionality. Alcohol breaks the hydrogen bonds in the proteins and denatures the cells. Ethanol also dissolves their lipids and is effective against most bacteria, fungi & many viruses.
- Terpineol works as protein leakage of both the Gram positive and gram negative Bacteria.
Salient Features:
- Strong synergistic action.
- Broad spectrum activity.
- Rapid onset of action.
- Refreshing fragrance.
- Excellent material compatibility.
- Contact time – 1 min.
Applications & Directions for Use:
Applications | Directions of Use |
First aid to prevent infection in cuts, bites, abrasions, insect stings | Dilute one capful of SANMETOL in 250 ml of water. Apply to affected area and cover with gauze or bandage. For urgent application, SANMETOL may be used undiluted, but not on sensitive skin. |
Aseptic management of contaminated wounds and burns management | Dilute 1:15 SANMETOL with clean water and apply on the wounds with cotton swabs |
Bathing | Dilute one capful of SANMETOL in a bucket of water |
Shaving | Dilute one capful of SANMETOL in a bucket of water |
Nappy wash | Dilute 2 capfuls of SANMETOL in a mug of shaving water |
Epidemics | Dilute one capful of SANMETOL in 500 ml of water to treat linen, mopping floors and for spraying rooms |
Douching (when medically advised) | Dilute 2 capfuls of SANMETOL in 500 ml of warm water |
Dandruff | Dilute one capful of SANMETOL in 500 ml of warm water. Saturate hair and scalp for 10 minutes, then shampoo. |
Spots and pimples | Bathe the affected area daily with one capful of SANMETOL diluted in 500 ml of warm water (not for eczematous conditions). |
In pharmaceutical, food and dairy industry for surface and general purpose disinfection | Dilute 1:4 SANMETOL for floor mopping and surface disinfection |
Available packs: 100ml, 1L, 5L
DEZSEP® CCI
Antiseptic Liquid
Composition:
Chlorhexidine Gluconate Solution IP – 1.5% v/v
Cetrimide IP – 3% w/v
Isopropyl alcohol – 3% v/v
Mechanisms of Action:
DEZSEP® CCI acts on microorganisms by triple action on Microorganisms
- CHG elicits both bacteriostatic and bactericidal activities based on the concentration. The efficacy of CHG as a suitable agent against microbe lies in its ability to disrupt the microbial cell wall. As a result of which the ATP- nucleic acid leaks out. CHG interacts with phosphate group of microbial cells which in turn affects the osmotic equilibrium. Hence causing cell death.
- Cetrimide is a cationic surfactant, a quaternary ammonium derivative, which has demonstrated effectiveness against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, also fungi.
Salient Features:
- Strong synergistic action.
- Broad spectrum activity.
- Excellent cleansing action due to Cetrimide.
- Non-staining, non-stinging and non-corrosive in recommended dilutions.
- Excellent material compatibility.
- Effectively removes bioburden from the affected areas.
- Rapid onset of action.
- Contact time – 1 min.
